59 of the 444 Viscounts built survive as complete airframes or major components. Some are in very good condition and are looked after by museums while others are just wrecks. They can be found in 24 countries.

Over 570 owners and operators have been involved with the Viscount. Some like Capital Airlines (USA) and BEA - British European Airways Corporation operated many while others like Air Anglia operated only one.

Viscounts operated by large airlines who had their aircraft for many years will have painted them in several different versions of their livery.

G-AOHM - British World Airlines (BWA) - April 1993 to April 1999

Transferred from British Air Ferries (BAF) due to a corporate name change still named 'Viscount Sir George Edwards'. Taken at Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, Scotland in March 1996.

An early morning departure with Shell oil workers for the short flight to Sumburgh Airport, Shetland Islands, Scotland.

The aircraft is now turning to port to start the taxy to the runway.

Note the red painted radome nose which doesn't suit it! In the background is a Bristow Helicopter facility serving oil rigs near to Aberdeen.

This aircraft c/n 162, a V.802, was built for British European Airways Corporation (BEA) as G-AOHM and first flew on Thursday, 30 May 1957 at Weybridge, Surrey, England.

During its life it was also owned and/or operated by British Airways (BA), British Air Ferries (BAF), Air Algerie, BAF Air Tours, Loganair, Manx Airlines, British World Airlines (BWA), Airwing 2000 Ltd and Interflight

Its final owner/operator was Transtel as 3D-OHM.

Its fate:-

Damaged beyond repair after an aborted takeoff at N'djamena International Airport, Tchad 24 July 2001. Reportedly re-registered as 5V-TTJ circa 2002 but there is no physical evidence of this on the aircraft. Possibly scrapped in 2003. Details please to information@vickersviscount.net.
